The House of Sothys

Sothys™ Gardens

A living place, cultivated for research.

In Auriac, Corrèze, the Jardins Sothys™ bring together four hectares of botanical garden, bordered by twenty-six hectares of forest and a lake, in the heart of a Natura 2000 zone.

In 2018, the site received the "Jardin Remarquable" (Remarkable Garden) label, a distinction that recognizes the garden's composition, its maintenance, its botanical interest, and the quality of its educational outreach.

Plants are observed there for what they can contribute to skincare. Some open up a path for research, before being studied by the Soredec laboratory.

Corrèze as an anchor point.

Bernard Mas created the Jardins Sothys™ in Auriac, the village where his family grew up. For a long time, Corrèze has been home to an
essential part of the House: research and production.

Since 2006, the Gardens have supported the development of Sothys' own active ingredients. The partnership initiated in 2013 with the Centre de Valorisation des Agro-ressources has strengthened this botanical research and linked the work in the garden to the laboratory's requirements.

While for many long years I devoted all my energy to Tokyo, New York, or Singapore to develop Sothys, my thoughts never left Auriac, the green jewel of my Corrèze garden, that magical place which, far from the frenzy of the century, has always brought me a sense of peace and
rejuvenation... Where the senses take root...

The Sothys Gardens™

In the heart of Corrèze, discover a lush haven where nature reveals all its richness. Let yourself be transported into the world of the Sothys™ Gardens, an exceptional place where biodiversity, beauty, and inspiration meet.

A garden like a sensory narrative.

The Sothys™ Gardens are discovered enclosure by enclosure. Every space has been thoughtfully designed in the choice of plants, the layout of the paths, and the way of entering the landscape.

Velvet getaway, white getaway, Egyptian getaway, hydrating getaway: these spaces combine plant life with an interpretation of skincare.
The textures, volumes, and perspectives create a sensation akin to the spa cabin experience.

In the undergrowth, the Treatment Bubble extends the Gardens' experience with a view of the surrounding landscape. This place gives the treatment a unique setting: near the plants, near the forest, in the calm that nourished Bernard Mas’s vision.

Organic birch sap

Organic birch sap

From Sothys Advanced Research. The sap is harvested in the border area between Cantal and Corrèze, a few kilometers from the Sothys Gardens in Auriac. It is hand-harvested by a professional from trees rigorously selected for their age, diameter, etc. Environmentally friendly, the harvest begins in late February or early March when the sap rises in the birch trees and ends before the first buds bloom. After harvesting, the hole is plugged with a wooden dowel to allow the tree to regenerate its bark. A birch tree can produce up to 200 liters per day; Sothys extracts between 5 and 10 liters per day per tree. Rich in sugars and minerals, birch sap is known for its moisturizing and revitalizing properties.

Cultivating a place also means maintaining it.

5 million bottles recovered

Since 2021, Sothys has been working with Plastic Bank based on a clear principle: for every kilo of plastic used in the Sothys Organics™, Evasion, and Hospitality lines, one kilo is collected.

To date, 100 tonnes of plastic have been collected, and Sothys has provided support to 142 communities around the world through its partnership with Plastic Bank.

180 corals replanted

Since 2024, Sothys has been supporting Tēnaka in the regeneration of coral reefs. In Malaysia, a 500 m² Sothys nursery has thus been established in a marine protected area.
