Complexion makeup: from skincare to beauty enhancement with Sothys.

At Sothys, skincare is at the heart of our expertise, and makeup is the final touch. Complexion makeup is therefore a natural extension of a complete facial ritual, from skin preparation to the final touches of color and light.

It all starts with a suitable skincare routine. After cleansing the skin, apply your Sothys ampoule, followed by your face serumand your skincare cream, such as a Youth Cream. In the morning, the ritual can be completed with the Youth protective fluid SPF50, which offers a dual action of care and protection.

Once the skincare routine is complete, it's time for makeup. To even out the complexion, the Sothys Smoothing complexion serumfully embodies the fusion of skincare and makeup. Its formula combines 85% skincare serum with 15% high-performance pigmentsfor an even, smoothed, and radiant complexion, with buildable coverage and a second-skin finish.
Makeup is then applied in touches, depending on the desired result. The Correcting & highlighter pencilcombines two complementary gestures: a matte tip to conceal imperfections and a pearlescent tip to illuminate certain areas of the face. Its pencil format also allows for easy touch-ups throughout the day.

To finalize the complexion, Sothys blushesallow you to enhance and structure the face while providing a healthy glow. Rose essentiel suits cool skin tones, while Brun essentiel suits warm skin tones.

From ampoule to serum, from cream to Youth protective fluid SPF50, and then from Smoothing complexion serum to corrector, blush, and highlighter, Sothys envisions the complexion as a complete ritual where makeup naturally complements skincare.

How can we help you today?

In what order should you apply your skincare before make-up?

After cleansing your skin, start with your Sothys ampoule, then apply your face serum and your skincare cream. In the morning, complete your ritual with the Youth Protective Fluid SPF50, which combines care and protection. Once your routine is complete, move on to make-up with the Smoothing Tinted Serum, then correcting, colour and highlighting products.

Which Sothys products should you use for complete complexion make-up?

Start with the Smoothing Tinted Serum to even out the complexion. Then use the Corrector & Highlighter Pencil to conceal certain imperfections and add touches of light. Complete with a Sothys blush to lift the cheekbones and give a healthy glow. A powder can also be used to perfect and set the make-up.

Why does the Sothys Smoothing Tinted Serum combine skincare and make-up?

The Smoothing Tinted Serum was developed around the fusion of skincare and make-up. Its formula contains 85% skincare serum, including niacinamide, saffron flower extract and plant collagen, combined with 15% high-performance pigments. It offers buildable coverage for an even, smoothed and luminous complexion.

How do you choose the right shade of Smoothing Tinted Serum?

Test the shade on the jawline or lower cheek: the right shade should blend harmoniously with the skin. The choice can then be refined according to the intensity of your skin tone and its undertone.

In the salon, your Sothys beautician can also help you choose the colour and texture and advise you on application techniques.

How do you achieve a natural, luminous complexion?

After your skincare routine, apply the Smoothing Tinted Serum, adapting the coverage to the desired result. Then work the Corrector & Highlighter Pencil only on the targeted areas, and apply blush to enhance the complexion. The pearly highlighter tip can be used as a finishing touch to bring light to certain areas of the face.

How do I choose the foundation shade best suited to my skin?

Choosing the right foundation shade depends on two essential elements: the skin's intensity and its undertone.

Here are our tips for finding the shade that matches perfectly.

1. Identify your skin's intensity

First choose the shade that matches your skin tone: light, medium or dark.

2. Determine the undertone

The undertone lets you personalise the result:

  • Neutral to cool: for a natural, fresh and slightly rosy complexion.
  • Neutral to warm: for a natural, warmed complexion.

3. Test the shade on your skin

Apply the foundation to the jawline or lower cheek to check that it blends with the face and neck. Ideally test it in natural light.

The right shade is the one that blends perfectly into the skin, with no demarcation or mask effect.

Your shade may also change with the seasons: as skin is generally lighter in winter and more tanned in summer, you can adapt your choice.
