Choosing the right foundation shade depends on two essential elements: the skin's intensity and its undertone.
Here are our tips for finding the shade that matches perfectly.
1. Identify your skin's intensity
First choose the shade that matches your skin tone: light, medium or dark.
2. Determine the undertone
The undertone lets you personalise the result:
- Neutral to cool: for a natural, fresh and slightly rosy complexion.
- Neutral to warm: for a natural, warmed complexion.
3. Test the shade on your skin
Apply the foundation to the jawline or lower cheek to check that it blends with the face and neck. Ideally test it in natural light.
The right shade is the one that blends perfectly into the skin, with no demarcation or mask effect.
Your shade may also change with the seasons: as skin is generally lighter in winter and more tanned in summer, you can adapt your choice.
