The House of Sothys
A Sothys formula is born in the laboratory. It is tested, then applied in the treatment room or integrated into your routine. This page follows its journey, from research to your skin.
From research to manufacturing, Sothys combines scientific expertise, innovation, and know-how to develop skincare and makeup products that blend quality and sensory appeal.
SOREDEC is the research and development laboratory of the Sothys group. Twenty-eight experts work there: biologists, chemists, pharmacists, and estheticians. Each year, they develop an average of 35 new skincare formulas and approximately 15 new makeup products.
The laboratory's estheticians provide the perspective from the treatment room. Their work allows the formula to be designed with its future application gesture in mind.
Discover the essential role of estheticians in the Sothys world and the transmission of its professional expertise.
SOREDEC is also the group's advanced research center.
It is there that our exclusive active ingredients are born, obtained according to the principles of green chemistry. Several of them are protected by filed patents.
The latest is the organic milk thistle seed peptide extract, integrated into the new Excellence Radiance Hydration Longevity Treatment
for its dual youth-enhancing and neurocosmetic-inspired action.
A Sothys formula meets four requirements: efficacy, sensoriality, safety and naturalness. It all starts with the choice of ingredients.
- More than 500 substances excluded beyond regulatory requirements.
- All our exfoliating grains are of natural origin: rice, coconut or sugar grains, for example.
- Our formulas are validated by an expert panel of consumers, and the group has a biometrology and sensory expertise unit.
Before being placed on the market, each formula undergoes several evaluation stages.
Its tolerance is assessed on cell cultures, then during clinical tests under the supervision of dermatologists. An independent toxicologist, external to the company, evaluates its safety.
Internally, our Product Safety department verifies the compliance of each raw material and each formula with international regulatory requirements. A pharmacist toxicologist guarantees the tolerance of our products there.
Efficacy is measured in our internal evaluation unit, with a panel of over 700 people. Three methods are combined: instrumental clinical tests, evaluation by a team of expert beauticians, and self-assessment by a panel of targeted consumers.
In the treatment room, the aesthetician works with professional products whose formulas are reserved exclusively for her use. The accompanying protocols are designed in our expert aesthetics unit within our marketing department and laboratory.
