The House of Sothys

The artisans of beauty

Care begins with observation.

A Sothys treatment begins before any product is applied.
First, the esthetician asks you about your skincare habits. Then, she examines your skin closely.

This time is an integral part of her profession. It is learned, just like the protocols and techniques that follow. Our formulas are scientifically designed, but research only has value when it becomes care.

Since 1946, Sothys has relied on the unique expertise of its estheticians at the heart of every treatment experience.

Your skin, your protocol.

The reading begins with a conversation: what you apply every day, what has changed in recent weeks. Then comes the look and the touch.

Skin that feels tight after cleansing, diffuse redness that appears in the cold: every sign guides the treatment. The esthetician identifies your skin type as well as your skin’s needs at that precise moment. She chooses the protocol accordingly, then recommends a routine for you to continue at home.

This beauty diagnosis is taught at the Sothys Academy™, just like all our protocols.

You can take the first step online. A few questions about your skin and your habits are enough to guide an initial
routine. The observation in the salon then refines this advice.

Your skin changes over time.

Our treatments adjust to accompany it.

Digi-Esthétique®, the Sothys signature massage technique.

In our signature treatments, the esthetician's hand follows a precise method: Digi-Esthétique®.

Estheticians developed it for their own practice. In 1990, it became the House’s signature.

It combines digital pressure with Western techniques of cosmetic drainage and massage. Digital pressure is a Sothys adaptation of shiatsu. In Japanese, shi means fingers and atsu means pressure.

The method includes 33 fundamental maneuvers. Four accompany the exfoliation, twenty-seven the massage, and two the application of the mask. Each type of treatment—youth, hydration, radiance, or premium—adds its own techniques.

Digital pressure involves slow, deep movements combined with stretching. The massage alternates smoothing, kneading, circular pressure, and cosmetic draining maneuvers. This manual work facilitates the penetration of skincare textures and softens the skin. Digital pressure provides deep relaxation.

The Secrets de Sothys® treatment has its own technique, Liftoplastie™, which brings together 30 gestures inspired by Japanese facial massage.

These movements are performed in salons, during treatments that incorporate them through the expert hands of our estheticians.

Movements designed with aestheticians.

Our treatment protocols are born in our expert aesthetics unit.

It is a beauty institute located in the heart of our laboratory. The team that works there designs our professional formulas, protocols, and massage techniques.

At the SOREDEC laboratory, estheticians work alongside biologists, chemists, and pharmacists. A team
of professional estheticians also evaluates our treatments, in addition to instrumental clinical tests and self-assessment tests.

A protocol establishes the order of steps, the product for each step, and the accompanying movements.

Within the marketing department, the Protocol Manager designs the aesthetic treatments of tomorrow.

A trained aesthetician, Amandine worked in salons and then in luxury hospitality, both in France and abroad. At Sothys, she works at the heart of the marketing department to listen to trends, analyze field feedback, and then work with the laboratory to define the appropriate texture for each treatment.

With the support of the Sothys Academy™, she then ensures that every technique is taught by passing on Sothys expertise to our trainers around the world.

In Sothys institutes, every treatment is much more than a protocol: it is a unique experience where professional expertise meets the art of touch.

Trained in exclusive Sothys methods, our aestheticians guide you through a true moment of beauty and well-being, designed to meet the unique needs of your skin.

It all starts with an encounter. Through a personalized conversation and an attentive beauty diagnostic, your aesthetician identifies your skin's needs and selects the most suitable treatment.

Every movement, every texture, and every stage of the protocol is orchestrated to combine visible performance with a profound sense of letting go. For even more remarkable results, intensive treatments can also be performed as a three-session course.

The experience then continues at home with bespoke recommendations, developed to prolong the benefits of the treatment and support your skin over time.

Experiencing a Sothys treatment means discovering a unique approach to beauty, where high-performance skincare is combined with the emotion of an exceptional moment.

Sothys Academy™, passing on precision.

A designed movement must then be learned.

The Sothys Academy™, our international training center, welcomes beauticians from all over the world at 128, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, in Paris. A second center, in Brive, in the Corrèze region, maintains the connection with the entire network.

Move by move, our protocols, beauty diagnosis, and Digi-Esthétique® are learned there. A beautician joining Sothys begins days of immersion in the Sothys universe at the Sothys Academy™: theory of the ranges first, then practice. Training continues
with each product launch, regionally or remotely.

For our clients, the difference is concrete.
The beautician knows the protocol she is practicing. She knows why she chooses a particular movement, and she can explain it.

The Sothys Academy™ was designed to inspire future generations. It was created by and for beauticians, to make training a shared pleasure.
